Looking for an interesting lecture?

Who will you ask to give a presentation this time? Preferably on an unusual subject that is still new to almost everyone. And yet within a modest budget. You will find the answer on this site.

Repurposed playing cards

For example, get acquainted with the unknown side of playing cards. They used to be reused. I would be happy to show you the ways in which this happened, from the 15th century to today. In 30 years, I have collected more than 6,000 and found 760 forms of reuse. They tell the story of the history of daily life. You will be amazed!

Games and puzzles from the WW2 era

Are you looking for another remarkable subject about which little is known? Then I would be happy to come and show and tell you which games and puzzles were played during the Second World War. How important they were. And how they provide a unique picture of that war. They seem cozy and innocent, but if you take a closer look, you will see that they certainly are not...

My database includes nearly 5,700 authentic games, puzzles and original photographs, all from the period 1920-1950, reflecting the political, economic and social developments of their time.

For over 30 years

Since 1993, I have had the privilege of giving countless lectures. At associations, service clubs, schools, universities, museums, archives, and working groups. In the Netherlands, but also in Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, England, France, Hungary, Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland, Portugal, Canada, and America. In large halls, but also for small groups. Even at a birthday party. Seriously!

I have created - and participated in - over 40 exhibitions in European museums and other venues. Author and co-writer of numerous publications in Europe and North-America.

I do it as a hobby

The subjects have been my passion for years. I collect, study, and enjoy sharing that with others. That is why the costs are limited. Send an email to gejusvd@xs4all.nl or call me, during the day or in the evening: 0031 6 29 088 011. Please note that I live in the Netherlands.
